We are thrilled to announce that our very own Nutri Troops creator Peter Bakare, has been nominated for Milton Keynes Mayorโs Awards, category MK Inspiration Awards.
Born and raised in Canning Town, London,ย Peterโs early life was shaped by the challenges of growing up in a disadvantaged community. He credits sport for fueling his unwavering commitment to youth empowerment and community engagement.
Peter is also director and ambassador for ย 5 On It Foundation,ย andย has played a key role in delivering initiatives that celebrate diversity and foster inclusion. Last year, he was a standout host of the Golden Gamesย programme, a multi-activity roadshow inspired by the Olympics and his own nutrition education model,ย Nutri Troops. The initiative reached over 3,000 children aged 5-11, encouraging healthy habits through sport and nutrition while celebrating multiculturalism. Participants explored activities that highlighted different food cultures and environments.ย Peter remarked,ย โMulticulturalism gives us a richness of sport and art and brings equality to everyone. Helping children in Milton Keynes understand differences encourages them to feel good about who they are while appreciating diversity in others. Ultimately, it helps to build strong, inclusive communities where everyone feels valued and a sense of belonging.โ
Peter also led animation workshopsfor SEN students aged 12 and over, using his Nutri Troops characters to inspire creativity. These workshops promoted social and educational inclusion by enabling students with varying needs to collaborate confidently, fostering relationships and a positive learning environment.
Peterย continues his work with passion, dedication, and tenacity, using his platform to promote and model inclusive behaviour.
